Burt Dixon has taught math and technology and coached athletics at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California since fall of 1990 and at Las Positas College since 2016. He is currently the Instructional Leader (Chair) of the Math Department at FHS. After earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics, a teaching credential and a Masters in Math Education, all from UC Davis, Dixon was hired by PUSD to teach Math at his alma matter, FHS. In addition to teaching math, computer graphics/CAD, and computer science courses, Burt coached wrestling for his first 10 years and coached Freshman and JV football 1991-2016. He is also currently teaching Statistics and Calculus courses at Las Positas College.
Mr. Dixon has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay) since 1971, attending FHS all four years and graduating from FHS in 1985. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and his kids Kelley and Colin. Mr. Dixon's hobbies include fishing, mountain biking, snow skiing, snow boarding, water skiing, woodworking and micro-brews.
